The Universities ' shuttle drivers are now protesting the non-implementation of their proposed increase in the University Students Union's transportation rate.
This progress has made the students ' vehicle movement to school difficult, as many are seen stuck at different bus stops
At the resumption of this session, the organized transport union requested that their service fee be increased by unfeasibility of the current charges taking into account the state of affairs in the country.
The union of students had called for a retrain in unilateral decision-making, saying the union would look into all possibilities and return to the union of transport. As the transport union seems to have exhausted their patience, they are protesting today because the agreement with the students ' union is still to be accepted and implemented.
In the meantime, while some of these transporters have decided to put their activities to a complete halt, some have decided to continue, but only to transport students from one bus stop to another without going to school.
One of the members of Union Of Campus Journalists (ucj) unilorin while talking to one of them at their point of convergence, the unilorin bus terminus, Tanke-Tippr Garrage, the shuttle driver said that he would not take students to or from the campus Until a proposed increase has been signed by the union. Another representative said he wasn't in the Terminus this morning because his turning pint was òkè-odò, so he didn't know the protest. All other busses are on the Terminus, but he found a few busses entering school. He concluded that perhaps they just got the idea this morning.
