Real Madrid has been hit with a severe injury blow ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final match against Manchester City on Tuesday.
After suffering a hamstring injury against Osasuna in a LaLiga match on Wednesday night, Real Madrid defender David Alaba is uncertain for the Champions League match against Manchester City.
Alaba sustained the injury in the last minutes of El Sadar's 3-1 victory over Osasuna.
After the game, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti claimed his side is "optimistic" about the issue, stating that he substituted the former Bayern Munich star as a "precaution" during the match against Osasuna.
At his post-match press conference, Ancelotti said, "We are confident with Alaba."
"We pulled him off as a precaution since he developed a strain."
Alaba has made 44 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and assisting four times.
