One could argue that House of the Dragon is the most eagerly awaited show of the year. Following the highly criticized Game of Thrones finale, many people have questioned if any of the rumored spin-offs would be worthwhile. It appeared bad for some time. Naomi Watts and John Simm were both involved in Bloodmoon, but HBO chose against continuing. House of the Dragon is the first Game of Thrones spinoff series. It will undoubtedly be Targaryen-centered. But how effective will it be?
Fortunately, any concerns that this prequel won't be any good are quickly dispelled. It contains a compelling plot, horrible scenes, and backstabbing almost right away. There is one sequence in particular that puts House of the Dragon even higher than that in comparison to the first episode of Game of Thrones. House of the Dragon appears to be deadlier, bloodier, and more terrifying than its predecessor was ever based solely on the pilot episode.
Fans will adore the characters' three-dimensionality. For instance, Olivia Cooke excels at having us question her character's every facial expression throughout the first two episodes. Additionally, it appears that House of the Dragon will feature a lot of plotting, deceit, and betrayals, just like Game of Thrones did. We don't yet know if there will be any bloody conflicts. However, I wouldn't worry too much because it's likely that a bloody conflict will occur before the first season is out.
Overall, this series is Game of Thrones when it was at its best. And in one massive area of improvement, the prequel looks and feels more diverse. Whilst the story is easy to get into, the characters are somewhat harder to invest in. However, chances are that the more we see of House of the Dragon, the stronger the character development will be
