There Is Only One Thing You Can Do To Help Arsenal - Thomas Party Advised

Arsenal have had to largely cope without Thomas Partey so far this season. Due to injuries, the midfielder has been restricted to just five appearances, across all competitions.

Partey last featured for the Gunners as a substitute in the Premier League win over Manchester City in early October. The 30-year-old has been unavailable for matches against Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United, amongst others, and is yet to play a minute of Champions League football.

This is hardly the first time that Mikel Arteta has had to deal with such absences from the Ghanaian. Recurrent injuries have been a long-standing issue for the £45 million former Atletico Madrid man. In fact, he has missed a significant chunk of every campaign since his arrival at the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2020.

Now, a recent update reported by The Mirror has stated that Partey has suffered another setback in his rehabilitation and will not be fit until some time in 2024. This has left Arteta weighing up replacement options for Partey, who he could sign in the upcoming January transfer window.

In truth, Arteta cannot rely on the 47-cap Ghana international anymore. There is no doubting his ability, but availability is the greatest asset of all, and Partey cannot provide that. Arsenal now need to sell Partey and move on.

That is certainly how Alan Brazil sees it, too. Discussing Partey’s latest setback on talkSPORT (15/11/2023, 06:46), Harry Symeou stated that, “Thomas Partey, who I believe would be one of the starting three, is not available and he’s never available as he’s constantly picking up injuries.”

To which Brazil replied, simply, “leave.”

Arsenal may find they struggle to find a buyer, though. Partey earns £200,000-a-week, and there can’t be many clubs willing to take on those wages with the player’s injury record casting a shadow over the deal.
