Adeleke Has Failed Osun People, Doesn’t Deserve Reelection – APC Chairman

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oriade Local Government, Hon. Olasunkanmi Ogunsanya, has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State to prepare for defeat in the upcoming 2026 governorship election. According to him, this will help them avoid the shock of an inevitable loss at the polls.

Hon. Ogunsanya made the statement while reacting to a recent gathering of PDP loyalists at their party office in Biket Area, Osogbo. At the event, the PDP members reaffirmed their unwavering support for Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke. The APC chairman dismissed the gathering as a “kangaroo declaration,” questioning its significance in light of what he described as the governor’s poor performance.

The APC chairman specifically criticized PDP supporters in Ijesa North, urging them to reevaluate their allegiance to Governor Adeleke. He argued that blind loyalty to a leader who has failed to deliver meaningful progress is detrimental to the future of the state.

Ogunsanya’s comments come on the heels of a recent public outburst by Hon. Wole Oke, a seasoned member of the House of Representatives and a prominent PDP stakeholder in Osun State. Hon. Oke had taken to social media to criticize Governor Adeleke’s performance, expressing disappointment over his administration's perceived shortcomings.

“Even members of the PDP, such as Hon. Wole Oke, have acknowledged that Governor Adeleke has failed the people of Osun State. If leaders within his own party are dissatisfied with his performance, it is clear that he does not deserve a second term,” Ogunsanya remarked.

The APC chairman reaffirmed his party’s commitment to delivering good governance to the people of Osun State. He emphasized that the APC is prepared to reclaim the governorship seat in 2026 by presenting credible and competent leadership.

Ogunsanya urged the people of Osun State, particularly PDP loyalists, to prioritize the state’s development over party loyalty. He expressed confidence that the APC’s vision for progress and accountability would resonate with voters in the next election.
